Placenta - The Journal

Journal of Placenta

Placenta is a peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes high-quality original research and invited reviews on all aspects of human and animal placentation. Its scope includes maternal–fetal interactions, fetal development, genetics and epigenetics, stem cell biology, molecular and cellular mechanisms, transport, immunology, pathology, pharmacology,

and developmental programming. The journal welcomes studies on implantation, endometrial function, comparative placentation, uterine and umbilical circulation, relationships between fetal and placental growth, and clinical conditions involving abnormal placental development or function. Research on placental membranes, paternal influences on placental biology, and biomarkers of placental disorders is also encouraged. Placenta is the official journal of the International Federation of Placenta Associations and is dedicated to supporting the scientific community through the rapid and rigorous processing of manuscripts.

Our Vision

By uniting placental researchers, clinicians, and trainees across the Americas, we build a dynamic collaborative network that drives discovery and innovation to advance pregnancy health and outcomes for mothers and babies worldwide
